Kneipp Therapy in Ratschings: Barefoot to New Energy"

August 31st, 2026

Shoes off, straight into nature: Kneipp therapy is one of the simplest and, at the same time, most effective wellness rituals there is. In Ratschings, this centuries-old method can be experienced in two ways — on the Kneipp path at the Wellness Sporthotel, and along the barefoot trail out in nature.

What's Behind the Kneipp Method

The method developed by Sebastian Kneipp is based on deliberately alternating warm and cold water, mainly through water treading and arm baths. This alternating stimulus boosts circulation, strengthens the immune system, and feels both invigorating and relaxing at once — a small workout for the blood vessels that feels surprisingly good.

The Kneipp Path at the Wellness Sporthotel

Guests at the Wellness Sporthotel have their own Kneipp path right on site. Anyone who wants to can use it at any time during their stay — no booking required, just barefoot and at your own pace. It's ideal as a quick refresher during the day or as a mindful start to the morning.

Barefoot and Recharged: The Barefoot Trail With Kneipp Experience

For those who'd like to combine Kneipp therapy with a walk in nature, the barefoot trail is the perfect choice. Feet feel earth, grass, and stones up close, while everyday life fades into the background for a while. As the crowning finish, the barefoot trail offers the chance to recharge with a refreshing Kneipp experience. There are also spots around the trail suited for a small picnic — a lovely reason to linger a little longer in nature.

Our hotels also regularly offer a guided walk to go with it: together, guests walk to the barefoot trail, followed by the Kneipp experience on site. Participation is free, the meeting point is reception, and registration is required the day before by 8:00 PM. Anyone who prefers to explore independently is, of course, welcome to visit the barefoot trail on their own at any time.

Why Kneipp Therapy Is Especially Worthwhile on Vacation

On a mountain vacation, the legs often work hard — whether after a hike or a ride on the mountain bike. The hot-cold water treatments of Kneipp therapy support circulation in the legs and feel especially soothing after an active day. As a gentle complement to sauna, pool, and massage, Kneipp therapy fits perfectly into our approach to wellness after hiking.

Who Kneipp Therapy Is For

The method couldn't be more accessible: no prior experience or special equipment needed, just a willingness to go without shoes for a while. That makes Kneipp therapy suitable for guests of any age, from relaxed vacationers to active hikers.

We recommend a therapeutic Kneipp walk with our expert Daniela.
