Gilfenklamm Magic Light: When the Gorge Glows After Dark
By day, the Gilfenklamm gorge is already a natural spectacle in its own right — by night, it becomes something else entirely. Since 2021, the Gilfenklamm Magic Light event has transformed the gorge every summer into a quiet, almost mystical world where water, rock, and starry sky merge into a single scene.
Between Rock and Light
Gentle, striking light installations make the Gilfenklamm's rock walls glow in shifting colors, while the sound of the water accompanies you through the darkness. You walk the same walkways and bridges as during the day, for about an hour — but in the evening, everything feels calmer, more intense, more mysterious. Details that get lost in daylight suddenly stand out. The result isn't a loud, staged show but a natural experience that fits harmoniously into its surroundings — and that's exactly what makes it so moving.

Gilfenklamm Magic Light runs in summer 2026 from July 16 to September 10, every Thursday. An additional date is offered on August 15, 2026.

How It Works
The walk through the gorge can be done in either direction — from Stange to Jaufensteg (uphill) or from Jaufensteg to Stange (downhill). After the walk, a shuttle bus conveniently brings guests back from Jaufensteg to Stange: the first departure is at 9:30 PM, the last at 11:15 PM. The shuttle is already included in the admission price.

Tickets are available directly at either of the two ticket booths, in Stange or Jaufensteg, payable in cash or by card. No reservation is required.
